Every season in Tanzania tells a different story — choose yours.
June to October – Peak Safari Season
This is the dry season, ideal for wildlife viewing. Animals gather around waterholes, making game drives in Serengeti, Ngorongoro, and Tarangire spectacular. It’s also the best time to witness the Great Migration river crossings.
- Weather: Cool, dry, sunny
- Perfect for: Big Five sightings, Migration safaris, Kilimanjaro climbs
November to March – Green & Calving Season
The landscape turns lush and vibrant. Fewer tourists, great birdwatching, and the calving season in the southern Serengeti bring intense predator action. Perfect for photographers and travellers who prefer quieter parks.
- Weather: Warm with occasional showers
- Perfect for: Calving safaris, birdwatching, Ruaha & Selous trips
April to May – Long Rains (Low Season)
While some areas become harder to access, this is the best time for discounted travel. Parks are quiet, scenery is lush, and Zanzibar is still pleasant between showers.
- Weather: Rainy but peaceful
- Perfect for: Budget travel, romantic escapes, coastal relaxation
